In each episode, Maarten van der Weijden travels to one of the cities where he completed his triathlon. This journey raised more than 4.7 million euros for various cancer research projects. Episode 1: Sneek
In episode 1, Maarten kicks off with someone who means a lot to him personally: Bob Löwenberg. Cancer specialist, researcher, and chair of the medical advisory board of the Maarten van der Weijden Foundation. They talk about how research projects are selected, about quality, relevance, and about hope.
Episode 2: IJlst
Maarten speaks with Leontine Heisen, Joep's mother and co-founder of the Villa Joep foundation, and with researcher Alex Poot, who is working on a promising new treatment for children with neuroblastoma. They discuss loss, hope, and the power of perseverance. They talk about parents who set up a foundation to help others, and researchers who push boundaries to make that dream come true.

In this episode, Maarten discusses the search for new therapies and the confusion, resilience, and hope that this evokes in patients.
Joining Maarten at the table are researcher Olaf Heidenreich, who is developing a radical new form of therapy, and singer and actress Nandi van Beurden, who was diagnosed with AML at the age of 21.
Aflevering 4: Stavoren

Ze gaan het hebben over de impact van hoofd-halskanker en de innovatieve oefenprogramma’s die patiënten helpen herstellen.
