More attention for para-athletics during the FBK Games
Para-athletics will take centre stage at the FBK Games on 21 June. As Reggeborgh Foundation, we are the presenting partner for para-athletics and are working with the organisers to further strengthen the para-athletics programme. This means that visitors will not only be able to enjoy world-class sport, but also learn more about the impressive achievements of para-athletes.
In the run-up to the event, we joined forces with the FBK Games to hold discussions with leading Dutch para-athletes. Together, we discussed, amongst other things, how the visibility of para-athletics can be further increased and how the public can be better informed about the various classifications within the sport. The first results are already becoming apparent: during the upcoming edition, the stadium announcer, the NOS commentators and the FBK Games’ communication channels will be paying extra attention to the para-athletics events and the associated classifications.
On 21 June, the following top Dutch para-athletes will be in action. They will be competing against a strong international field:
Women’s shot put
- Lara Baars – F40
- Cheyenne Bouthoorn – F36
Women’s long jump
- Fleur Jong – T62
- Kiki Hendriks – T62
