Four new fellows, four innovative studies

The Research Fellows focus on innovations that directly contribute to better care for patients in Twente:

  • Tim Heuker of Hoek (pulmonary medicine, MST) is investigating the causes of sleep apnoea and looking into whether 3D-printed masks can make treatment more user-friendly.
  • Bram de Kinderen (dermatology, ZGT & MST) is working on new technological solutions so that people with chronic skin conditions can receive good care, both at home and in hospital.
  • Sam Kroezen (Twentse Voet: trauma surgery ZGT & orthopaedics MST) will further develop a digital foot model to better predict the results of complex foot operations and improve outcomes for individual patients.
  • Jelle Steentjes (Fluorescence Imaging lab, MST) is investigating how doctors can better visualise tissue perfusion in skin reconstructions and difficult-to-heal wounds, so that treatments have a greater chance of success.

Follow-up to successful first cohort

The fellowship started two years ago with the first four fellows, who are now in their third and final year. With the arrival of a new group, not only will the knowledge built up by the development programme be continued, but new areas of expertise will also be explored. This will create a growing Reggeborgh Research Fellowship community, which will contribute to the continuity and impact of the programme.

Unique collaboration in the Netherlands

Reggeborgh Research Fellowship is a collaboration that brings together the entrepreneurial spirit of Reggeborgh Foundation with healthcare, science and innovation in medical technology.
