Through Groene Toppers programme, Reggeborgh Foundation supports elite athletes and para-athletes who are among the world’s best and hold high world rankings. Having progressed through our talent programmes, these athletes are now ready to take the next step. This enables them to continue investing in their development and prepare as thoroughly as possible for the biggest competitions.
The first ‘Groene Topper’ we’d like to introduce to you is Maarten ter Hofte. Maarten began his partnership with Reggeborgh Foundation as one of the first talents in ‘Groene Appeltjes’ programme. He is now among the world’s best and is preparing for his Grand Slam debut. A wonderful achievement of which we are very proud. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be taking you behind the scenes of Maarten’s life as a top-level athlete: through his training sessions, matches and his outlook on the future.

What goes on in the run-up to a major match? Maarten ter Hofte was one of the first athletes to join Groene Appeltjes programme and has since established himself as a fixture among the world’s top wheelchair tennis players. Ranked in the world’s top 15, he competes in tournaments at the highest level across the globe.

His strength lies in his speed, agility and flexibility on court. Through the Groene Toppers programme, we are supporting Maarten in this next phase of his career, in which he is focusing further on competing at the very top of the world rankings.
