Groene Appeltjes (Green Apples)
With Reggeborgh Foundation, we are committed to supporting talented athletes who dream of success at national or international level. Ambitious young adult athletes and para-athletes who are motivated to develop further, both as athletes and as people. We call the athletes we support in pursuing their goals our “Groene Appeltjes”.

Personal drive
During the introductory meeting, we not only look at sporting goals, but also pay attention to motivation and personal stories. The motivations and experiences of athletes can be a source of inspiration for others. Not only because of the successes they achieve, but also because of their perseverance and resilience. In addition, we believe it is important that the Groene Appeltjes are aware of the world around them. For example, they are committed to the charities of the Reggeborgh Foundation and organise clinics at primary schools and sports clubs. In this way, they pass on their life experiences to the next generation of athletes.
Our Groene Appels
We support our Groen Appels in various ways. In addition to contributing to training camps, competitions, or equipment, we offer the opportunity to share our knowledge and experience through top athletes and professionals associated with our Reggeborgh sports family.
We are proud to present our Groene Appels Jelle Snippe (judoka), Maarten ter Hofte (wheelchair tennis player), Aniek Mars (triathlete) Max Swabedissen (athlete), Loes Kempe (middle-distance runner), Joris Otten (whitewater canoeist), Noa Rabou (alpine skier), Wies Bekhuis (beach volleyball player), Xian Aanstoot (paracyclist), Dion Eijssen (athlete), Evi Falkena (long-distance runner), Kiki Hendriks (para-athlete) and Zara Temmink (para-athlete).

Jelle Snippe
Enschede-born Jelle Snippe, at 113 kilos, is a lightweight among Judoka heavyweights. We have been following him for several years and the contact has always remained. That is why we are very proud that he is our first Green Apple. In 2023, Jelle made a big jump to the world top with a Grand Slam victory in Turkey and bronze European Championship medal in Baku. And it is now final: Jelle has also secured his Olympic ticket. This summer, he will make his debut at the Olympic Games in Paris. "A dream come true," are his words. On 2 and 3 August, the time has come; he will give everything to achieve his victory.

We are also supporting 20-year-old wheelchair tennis player Maarten ter Hofte from Goor, who will make his debut at the Paralympic Games in Paris this summer. Maarten has Spina Bifida, better known as the congenital defect 'spina bifida', which means his lower legs have less muscle strength. As a 7-year-old boy, he did not envisage wheelchair tennis ever becoming his sport. Playing football was his passion, but when his legs could no longer carry him, the football boots were exchanged for a tennis racket.

Aniek Mars
From a young age, it was noticeable that Aniek was athletically inclined. She liked to clamber on top of everything. Nevertheless, she chose competitive swimming, but also took part in running races with her sister. Through a youth clinic at Triade Zwolle, Aniek came into contact with triathlon five years ago. To her surprise, she immediately competed well at an NK and has since become Dutch Champion in the under-23 age category. Currently, Aniek trains full-time at the Nationaal Triathlon Trainingscentrum in Sittard. Her goal is clear; in 2028 she wants to be at the start of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

We already know Max from his time at AV Rijssen and have watched him grow every year. He joined David Hutten's AV Rijssen Talent team and then made the move to the Dutch selection. Since 5.5 years, Max has been training at Papendal under the guidance of Honere Hoedt. To help Max realise his dream, we provide financial support for his training and competition programme and support his foundation 'Mission Max'.

Loes Kempe
We welcome talented Loes Kempe as a middle-distance runner to the Green Apples. Loes has now been in athletics for ten years and trains at athletics club Altis, where top athlete Femke Bol is also a member. That Kempe is a great talent, she showed in Belgium by reaching the World Cup limit. The fact that Loes is surrounded by expert trainers, who guide her well, gives us a lot of confidence in the route she is taking.

We welcome whitewater canoeist Joris Otten to the Green Apples. The 27-year-old athlete from Helmond decided five years ago to go all out for his sport: whitewater canoeing. He traded his Journalism studies for a life in the southern French town of Pau, where he trains daily on wild water. With success: in 2024, he made history as the first Dutch C1 sailor to compete in the Olympics.

Noa Rabou
Noa Rabou joins Reggeborgh Foundation's Green Apples. The 20-year-old alpine skier from Brabant is pushing hard in a sport that rarely feels Dutch. What started with a school competition on a brush court grew into a top international sports career.
