Baanselectie Twente

Reggeborgh Foundation has entered into a partnership with Baanselectie Twente. This means that the talented young group of long-track speed skaters can count on financial support from the Foundation in the coming year.

The Foundation is entering into a partnership with Baanselectie Twente because it believes it is important for talented skaters to be able to continue training at a high level in their own environment. ‘With good trainers in Twente, Baanselectie is continuing to build a strong foundation for talented skaters so that they can hopefully progress to the top,’ says Inge Wessels of Reggeborgh Foundation. ‘This means that skaters do not have to leave for Heerenveen at a young age, but can continue to train at the ice rink in Enschede and live at home. We are keen to contribute to this.’

Annemarie van der Steen of Baanselectie Twente is delighted with the collaboration. ‘It suits us very well. Reggeborgh is, of course, a big name in speed skating, and it's great that they are now also supporting talented skaters in the region. Thanks to their contribution, we can attract good trainers for our selection group and also go on training camps, for example.’

Baanselectie Twente currently consists of 12 talented speed skaters. There is a group of five B and C juniors between the ages of 14 and 17 and a group of seven speed skaters between the ages of 17 and 25.
