De Koninklijke Nederlandse Doven Sport Bond (The Royal Dutch Deaf Sports Association) is delighted to announce that Reggeborgh Foundation has become an official partner of the Dutch Deaflympics Team. With this partnership, both parties aim not only to support the achievements of our top athletes, but above all to achieve a broader social impact by drawing attention to deaf and hard-of-hearing athletes in the Netherlands.

INGE Bestuurder KNDSB LR

The Deaflympics, the Olympic Games for deaf athletes, symbolise perseverance, inclusion and sporting excellence. Thanks to the support of Reggeborgh Foundation, we at KNDSB can optimally prepare our athletes for the upcoming Deaflympics 2025, which will take place from 12 to 26 November in Tokyo, Japan, and contribute to greater recognition and visibility for this unique sporting community.

We are extremely proud that a committed party such as Reggeborgh Foundation is supporting our athletes. This collaboration enables us not only to realise sporting ambitions, but also to strengthen the social position of deaf and hard-of-hearing athletes. Together, we are making a difference.

- Boris Pavloff, voorzitter KNDSB

‘We believe in the power of sport and connection,’ says Inge Wessels of Reggeborgh Foundation. ‘We are delighted to support the four athletes who will be participating on their way to the Deaflympics.’

  • Albert Westerhof from Noordwijk (Gr) competes in the 60 kg class, is already among the world's best and is going for a third gold medal.
  • Elaine den Exter lives and works in Switzerland and still dreams of a Deaflympics medal. In Europe, she has already achieved impressive results in the 100m and 200m sprints. She is now training hard for a medal in Tokyo.
  • Ralph van Houwelingen, from Den Bosch and current world record holder in the 3 km and 10 km (road), is now a serious contender in the 5 km. Not only is he going for gold, he also wants to peak in Tokyo with a world record in the 5 km!
  • Charles Mikkers from Valkenswaard is eagerly looking forward to participating in the Deaflympics in Tokyo, where he hopes to realise his dream by finishing in the top 5.

With this partnership, KNDSB and Reggeborgh Foundation are taking a step towards a more inclusive sporting world in which everyone is seen, heard and appreciated.
